In this series, some illustrations originally made for In Trieste Magazine have been partially modified, removing the masks that hid the faces in the original series. The original series had been made during the pandemic days. I decided to modify some scenes, removing the masks, to show how the everyday life of certain moments has remained unchanged over time.
Illustrations for In Trieste Magazine, mostly inspired by the daily life of the city of Trieste during the pandemic period. Many of the situations depicted are the same as they have always been in this city — the main difference being the ubiquitous presence of face masks.
The titles of these illustrations often refer to dialect words typical of this beautiful border town. The illustration In the World of Books was selected to appear in the prestigious 40th Annual Book of American Illustration.
